Hello girlies! Today I'd like to share some information regarding eating habits. I know this may be a sensitive topic to some but I truly believe education on this topic is crucial for young girls who may be struggling with their eating habits. During puberty, girls will begin to gain weight, it's completely normal and absolutely necessary for development. As your menstrual cycle begins you will go through phases within the cycle which can dictate your appetite. Everybody is different but you can count on the fact that some days you may feel extremely hungry and some days you'll have no appetite. You will likely be susceptible to weight fluctuations and that is completely normal and healthy.

Though it is normal to gain weight and develop breasts and wider hips these changes can be shocking for young girls. While struggling with body image issues, healthy eating habits can be hard so I'd like to share a few tips with you guys that really helped me out. Tip #1 Eating breakfast Girls, I never ate breakfast until last year, I just graduated btw. Let me be the first to admit that it is actually the most important meal of the day. As someone who struggled with weight regulation for many years this has been the most important tip in helping me maintain a healthy weight. Eating breakfast gives you energy for the day, can help avoid hangryness and gives you a great reason to get up in the morning. Tip #2 Eating early What I mean by eating early is having all your meals before a certain time. Personally I recommend around 4-5pm but it's all dependent on your schedule. Eating your meals earlier on can help curb binges on unhealthy foods as those are typically craved at night. Also building a habit of eating at the same time everyday will help with healthy bowel movements as it gives your body time to digest the food you ate the night before. Tip #3 Being intuitive Balance, having balance is key. You need to listen to your body when it's telling you it's hungry or if it's not. During your menstrual cycle you'll experience different appetites throughout the month. It's okay to give into cravings, you do not need to feel guilty for enjoying the foods you love. Although it is crucial to make sure you are eating healthy and getting in all your nutrients still. If I know I'm going out I like to make sure to have a healthy breakfast even if I know I'll be eating a lot in order to still get my vital nutrients in and avoid binging.
